Summer Stir-Fry

I picked up a small amount of "Wine cap mushrooms" at the Rye farmers' market last week. Interesting shroomz! Thought a simple stir fry would be in order... along with some yellow squash and japanese eggplant from my garden, and some zucchini, broccoli, red bell pepper, and onion from local farmers. A drizzle of sesame oil and a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds made it just right. What a joy!

If you don't own a funghi guide, try this site for an interesting look at the various types of wild mushrooms that grow around the region.  It's based out of Hudson, NY, but we have many of these around the NH area.  The wine cap is featured second from the bottom of their page.

Remember, never eat a wild mushroom unless you have had an expert guide you first!  Many, many mushrooms are poisonous....
